Cyrus first began his career in sustainability at Southface decades ago when he was an intern, then became a fellow and eventually a staff member. As a close friend of Dennis Creech, Cyrus will share his outlook on his career path and the importance of maintaining relationships, finding opportunities and taking calculated risks. His career began working alongside Dennis Creech. Learn more about his journey and how his early relationships still hold strong with his work.

DENNIS CREECH'S CAREER

Dennis co-founded Southface, an Atlanta-based nonprofit promoting sustainable homes, workplaces and communities. He ran the organization for 38 years, and under his direction Southface has become a trusted partner to federal and local governments, utilities, businesses and nonprofits, as well as a valuable resource to consumers. Recognized as a national leader in sustainability, Dennis has received numerous professional awards, including the prestigious Hanley Award for Leadership in Sustainable Housing.

Dennis is a Fund Advisor for Sustainability with The Kendeda Fund, a donor-advised foundation that supports the dignity of individuals and the sustainability of communities through investments in transformative leaders and ideas. He manages a Southeast portfolio focused on sustainability and is a liaison with Georgia Tech on the construction of The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design, one of the most environmentally advanced buildings in the South.
